I didn't know much about the Jannissaries although some quick Wikipedia tells me you may be on to something.
I 100% agree that the Jedi way of life is rife with the potential for abuse. I'm fact, we see this potential realized. Anakin is emotionally abused by Obi-Wan throughout AotC. The Council handed him over to Palpatine, an adult who groomed him for further abuse, in order to curry political favor. They sent teenagers to war and left them to die when they were kidnapped. We don't see kids being beaten or sexually molested, but we also don't see a mechanism for any potential victims for reporting of they were.
