There are few instances where one single person truly directs the flow of history, and even then, it's more like they're channeling the zeitgeist than reshaping the world in their own image. The idea that a single person can change the world is the sort of idea that makes real life dictators seem more appealing because people end up thinking they can single handedly fix things.
