Crossovering Letter 2017
Aug. 19th, 2018 09:35 amDear Writer,
I do love a good crossover, so thanks in advance for writing me one. Since you probably don’t know me, I guess I should tell you a little bit about my likes/dislikes.
In general, I prefer gen, especially focused on platonic and familial relationships. I enjoy outsider POVs, unreliable narrators, and women being well rounded human beings. I’m interested in found families, biological families, younger siblings, sidekicks, clones with identity issues, friends who become lovers and friends who don’t.
I’m not really into romance or romantic tropes and I have zero interest in sex scenes. I’m not entirely opposed to romance, but I prefer it not to be the focus of the story. I have a huge embarrassment/humiliation squick and have issues with infidelity, so please avoid those.
In terms of crossovers, I love both straight crossovers and fusions. When it comes to fusions, I’m especially fond of ones that somehow shine new light on characters and their relationships. As I mentioned before, unreliable/ ignorant narration is my catnip. Incorporate that into a crossover and I will love it.
Request 1: Spies and Time Travelers
Fandoms: Agent Carter (TV); Captain America (Movies); Hogan's Heroes;Timeless (TV 2016); Oxford Time Travel Universe - Connie Willis; Indiana Jones Series
I am looking for some sort of fun romp involving spies and/or time travel. World War II spyjinks team-up? Awesome! Time travelers in the 1940s? Sweet! Time traveler gambit pile up? Hilarious! Go for it and have fun.
Request 2: In a fused galaxy far, far away
Fandoms: Star Wars Prequel Trilogy; Star Wars Original Trilogy Young Wizards - Diane Duane; His Dark Materials - Philip Pullman; Pacific Rim; Avatar: The Last Airbender
I love Star Wars, specifically the first six films, and the Clone Wars and Rebels cartoons. I would love a story which fuses the GFFA with one of the other four. Are Luke and Leia drift compatible? What was Anakin's wizard ordeal like? Do clone troopers have daemons? Who bends what? You get the idea. Feel free to include characters from the cartoons.
Request 3: The Case of the Unreliable Narrator
Fandoms: Buffy the Vampire Slayer; Criminal Minds; Supernatural; Veronica Mars - All Media Types; iZombie; Pushing Daisies
I mentioned I like unreliable/ ignorant narrators, right? Here’s the perfect time to use them. Someone is investigating the weirdness on someone else’s show and wackiness ensues.
Request 4: (Un)Reality TV
Fandoms: Nailed It!; Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
I love Nailed It! Give me a crossover where any of these characters are contestants or celebrity judges on this show for maximum hilarity.
Thanks for writing. I’m sure I’ll enjoy.
Love,
Me
