When it comes to understanding Adora's damage, parentification is the name of the game. For those of you who didn't cut their fandom eyeteeth reading Dean Winchester meta, parentification is when a child is forced to take on age inappropriate responsibility for the physical and emotional needs of their parents and/or siblings. Once we understand the nature of Adora's parentification, the source of her perfectionism, anxiety, responsibility, and dedication become clear. And so does the troubled relationship with Catra.

Woe, it sure has been a while. I keep telling myself I'll get on here and write, but then I never do. Last week I managed to eek out my story for the Hurt/Comfort exchange, but in general I've been terribly unmotivated when it comes to fandom for the last couple of months. Still I've got some ideas for metas I've been kicking around. Send my some encouragement and I may even write them!

1. The parentification of Adora and how that has impacted her character in terms of her anxiety and the pressure she puts on her self. (She-Ra)

2. The parentification of Luther and how that has impacted his character and how he relates to his siblings (Umbrella Academy)

3. Light Spinner/Shadow Weaver and her mentoring style with Mickah, Catra, and Adora (She-Ra). Side note, Taylor Gray, don't ever stop playing naive young things being lead into morally questionable things by dark mentors.

4. Diego in the Police Academy and what it says about his backstory (Umbrella Academy)

I wrote over 2,000 words spread across 8 stories this month in She-Ra & the Princesses of Power, Star Wars, and one fandom which shall remain nameless until the exchange is revealed in February.

Ahsoka the Vampire Slayer - Ahsoka is the Chosen One, the Slayer. The one girl in all the world with the power to fight the forces of darkness, or at least she was until she died. She got better, but now there's a new Slayer in town and things with her Watcher are strained at best. Add in a bunch of zombie mind control bugs and Ahsoka's week could be going better. I've been signing up for stuff left and right lately.

I signed up for Past Imperfect Future Unknown time travel exchange on the 14th and got my assignment last night. No spoilers, but the requests were for two different fandoms of mine, one I'm half way to breaking up with and one I haven't talked to in a while. Time for a re-watch!

I also signed up for the Agent Carter Valentines exchange. Sign ups are still open until noon if you want to get in on that.

The deadline for

yuletide is fast approaching, and by that I mean it's tomorrow. Luckily, I already posted my assignment plus another story I wrote for fun. No betas though, we dye like mne.

No real progress on either of my bingo cards, but I do have an idea for a Black Lightning fic which is basically me just sorting through my thoughts on Jennifer Pierce from the mid-season finale. I just need to put on my big girl pants and write the damn thing.
