Crossovering Letter 2017
Jul. 18th, 2017 01:33 pmDear Writer,
I do love a good crossover, so thanks in advance for writing me one. Since you probably don’t know me, I guess I should tell you a little bit about my likes/dislikes.
In general, I prefer gen, especially focused on platonic and familial relationships. I enjoy outsider POVs, unreliable narrators, and women being well rounded human beings. I’m interested in found families, biological families, younger siblings, sidekicks, clones with identity issues, friends who become lovers and friends who don’t.
I’m not really into romance or romantic tropes and I have zero interest in sex scenes. I’m not entirely opposed to romance, but I prefer it not to be the focus of the story. I have a huge embarrassment/humiliation squick and have issues with infidelity, so please avoid those.
In terms of crossovers, I love both straight crossovers and fusions. When it comes to fusions, I’m especially fond of ones that somehow shine new light on characters and their relationships. As I mentioned before, unreliable/ ignorant narration is my catnip. Incorporate that into a crossover and I will love it.
Request 1: Supernatural Spyjinks
Fandoms: Agent Carter (TV); Wonder Woman (2017); Captain America (Movies); Indiana Jones Series
All four of these fandoms involve spies, World Wars, and supernatural weirdness. They even have overlapping time frames! Give me a story where Etta Candy trains Peggy Carter. Give me one where Indiana Jones is called into consult with the SSR. Give me one where Indy and Diana do magical archeology or where Diana and Peggy bond over lost Steves. You get the idea. Have fun.
Request 2: In a Fused Galaxy Far, Far Away
Request 2A - Fandoms: Star Wars - All Media Types; Young Wizards - Diane Duane
Request 2b - Fandoms: Star Wars-All Media Types; His Dark Materials - Philip Pullman
Request 2C - Fandoms: Star Wars-All Media Types; Pacific Rim
I love Star Wars, specifically the 7 films, and the Clone Wars and Rebels cartoons. I would love a story which fuses the GFFA with one of the other three. Are Luke and Leia drift compatible? What was Finn’s wizard ordeal like? Do clone troopers have daemons? You get the idea. Please, no Hux or Kylo Ren.
Request 3: Everything's Better With Dragons
Request 3A - Fandoms: Temeraire - Naomi Novik; Hamilton - Miranda
Request 3B - Fandoms: Temeraire - Naomi Novik; Downton Abbey
Take historical fiction and insert dragons. Fusion, crossover, which ever just as long as there are dragons. Just remember, dragons can live for 200 years and, according to the books, Alexander Hamilton was alive and losing his bid for president in 1812.
Thanks for writing. I’m sure I’ll enjoy.
